You Care About Mental Health

Whether you’re an educator, business owner, elected official, or clergy person, you recognize that mental health is important.

One thing that 2020 taught us is that mental health is integral to overall health – of the individual, the organization, and society.  When folks are stressed, feel undervalued, or are dealing with personal struggles, they’re unable to show up as their best self.

Learning about warning signs, coping skills, and other mental health topics can impact the wellness of those with whom you work.

Make Mental Health Part of the Conversation

Hosting a workshop or seminar is a great opportunity to highlight mental health and offer your people resources.

Imagine a workspace where everyone feels valued, where they know all aspects of their wellbeing are acknowledged, and they have access to outside resources as needed.

Imagine having your struggles as an educator recognized, feeling more equipped to handle your students’ mental health concerns, and having access to a network of mental health professionals if needed.

Imagine creating a space as a clergy person where your congregants can practice their faith and know their mental health is taken seriously.

I can provide a workshop or seminar that helps make these types of visions a reality.  Let’s talk about getting your event scheduled.

Workshop & Seminar Topics

The format and topic of each workshop or seminar is based on my expertise and your needs.

From a 1-hour “Lunch & Learn” format to a multi-week series, we can figure out what will best meet the needs of your context and audience.  An in-person gathering?  A virtual workshop?  We’ll work together to figure those details out as well.

The following list offers examples of some of the topics I have previously covered in a workshop or seminar:

  • Coping with Anxiety & Stress
  • Whole-Person Wellness
  • Spirituality & Mental Health
  • Recognizing Mental Health Red Flags
  • Navigating Adolescence (for parents of teens)

We can work together to identify the topic that will best meet your needs and format.

Text reads "Frequently Asked Questions" related to Workshops and Seminars.

What is a Workshop?  What is a Seminar?

The workshops I offer are generally brief, one-time events that focus on a specific area of mental health.  This may include something like “Basic Skills for Coping with Anxiety.”  A seminar is generally longer in nature – either lasting full day or taking place over multiple sessions – and provides an opportunity to go more in depth around a topic related to mental health.

How do Workshops & Seminars work?

The specifics depend on the context of the program.  However, the process generally starts with someone reaching out to me requesting that I provide information for their group on a specific topic related to mental health.  We discuss details such as number of attendees, the specific context, and goals for the event.  We decide what format – in-person or online, workshop or seminar – works best and I move forward with creating the content.  Throughout the process, I communicate with the leader/organization.  I may also be involved in promoting the event, depending on the context.

How much does a Workshop or Seminar cost?

This depends on many factors specific to each program.  We will discuss the specifics of cost when you provide the details of what you’re looking for in your specific workshop or seminar.

How do I know if a Workshop or Seminar is right for my group?

If you work with people in some capacity, there is likely a need for more conversations about mental health.  Workshops or Seminars are simple ways to bring up the conversation and ensure your group is aware of resources.  You simply let me know some details about your context and what you’re looking for, and I put together and present the program.
